From RTÉ News: The European Commission has outlined a plan to streamline immigration into the EU and encourage incentives to more skilled professionals.
The commission wants skilled migrants to be eligible for a so-called Blue Card which would make it easier to work in different EU countries.
To qualify a migrant would need an EU job contract of at least one year guaranteeing a salary of at least three times the minimum wage in the country concerned, plus health insurance.
In my opinion this is utopia. As far as I am concerned, you can be highly qualified, skilled, experienced and so on, but if you, as a Non-EU person, arrive in Europe carrying your CV and your degree, expecting to get a job contract according to the conditions they outlined above, definitely you are being naive. It doesn’t work like that. Dream on.
