NETGEAR Skype WiFi Phone – I simply love it!

I’ve just bought a NETGEAR WiFi Skype Phone. It’s a lovely gagdet which is the size of a mobile phone. It can be connected to any WiFi network that doesn’t require web browser authentication and there’s no need to have the computer running Skype all the time.
This WiFi phone is very intuitive to be configured, I connected it to our wireless network in 5 minutes with fixed ip address and WPA-PSK authentication (it also supports WEP).
I’m a happy camper because now I can receive calls from my Brazilian friends and relatives made to my Skypein number from Brazil (they get me in Ireland but pay the price of a local call), calls from my friends who are in Ireland made to my Irish Skypein number and finally Skype calls from another Skype users, all in the same handset.
I can also make any type of call through Skypeout and in the case of a call to Brazil, using my Brazil 400 subscription.
The only issue I have related to the NETGEAR Skype WiFi Phone SPH101 is that it doesn’t support Skype chat messages, but to tell you the truth it doesn’t matter at all. 🙂
