The Rude Recruiter

Recruitment Agency

I’ve just received a phone call from a guy from a recruitment agency. The first time he rang he hung up on me but his number came up on my mobile phone, then after 1 minute exactly, he rang again, this time hiding his number. The man was muttering on the phone and I could barely understand what he was saying, when I said “sorry, I can’t hear you properly ?”, he repeated his question very rudely. In the end, after a few questions, he wanted me to send him my updated cv. I said okay and asked for his e-mail address, he answered rudely that he would e-mail me with his details. He’s just e-mailed me a blank e-mail, well not that blank, it has his automated signature in it and that message from the servers saying the content is confidential bla bla bla. That was rude. I’ve never seen a thing like that. Is there not still some e-mail etiquette to be followed when you are trying to contact candidates for jobs? Perhaps he thinks he is doing me a great favour. Commercially speaking, why did he hide his phone number? Well, just to conclude the episode, I’m not sending my updated cv, thanks, but NO thanks.
