I’m far from being a blog expert, but from my point of view the blogroll is a list of links to websites that are interesting from the blog owners point of view. So, if I visit a blog or website and I subscribe to its feed because I like it, I may well list it in my blogroll. The same way that bloggers write a post about something they think is relevant, they list a website they think is cool. Well, I thought things worked in the blogosphere this way until I saw some blogs exchanging links simply to increase their page rank. I think it’s a scream. I cannot see myself filling my blogroll with links that have nothing to do with me just because they have a good PR and it will help to increase my visits. Gimme a break! I’d rather have a blog roll not a toilet roll. Should blogrolls comply with the blog owners taste or are they just another tool to increase the page rank? What do you think?
